Joyce Frances Devlin (Canadian, 1932-)
Lithograph, signed lower left in pencil and numbered 47 of 65. Dated 1974.
Joyce Frances Devlin, originally from British Columbia, has lived and worked in the Ottawa region since the 1960's. Devlin is known for the juxtaposition of abstract collage with landscape imagery - of which "Purple Sky" is a striking example. The bold colours and manipulation of mass and shape make this a particularly compelling piece. Devlin's work is held in the Firestone Collection of Canadian Art at the Ottawa Art Gallery and is occasionally available at auction.
