Claude Vermette was a Canadian ceramiscist and painter. He was born in Montreal and died in Ste-Agathe des Monts. Vermette was primarily known as a ceramiscist and a pioneer in the field of architectural ceramics. Notably, for residents of Montreal, his ceramic work can been seen on the walls of the St. Laurent and Berri-UQAM metro stations.
In the last thirty years of his life, Claude Vermette devoted most of his activity to painting. His works has been exhibited in Canada and abroad and are represented in the collections of public institutions, large corporations and private collections.
