Georges Braque was a major 20th-century French painter known for his contributions to the Fauvism movement and the role he played in the development of Cubism. Braque's work between 1908 and 1912 is closely associated with that of his colleague Pablo Picasso.
The Verve Review was a Parisian art journal seeking to bring the works of the emergent Modernist and Surrealist painters to a wider public. Each limited edition contained unique lithographic prints, commissioned by the editor, and each cover a double-page lithograph elaborated by one of the artists contained within.
