Ron Jamieson (1917-2010), Canadian.

Jamieson was born in Winnipeg and died in Montreal where he had lived from the 1930s. He began his career as an illustrator and took up painting in the late 1960s. He was known for his landscapes and street scenes.
Bohaus Art especially appreciates the perspective and composition of the work as it draws the eye to the cathedral at the centre of painting - and not-so-subtly illustrates the dominance of the Catholic Church in small-town Quebec in the mid-twentieth century.
