Victor Vasarely (Hungarian-French 1906-1997)
Lithograph, hand-signed numbered 29/350. Expertly framed with museum quality glass (UV protection and anti-glare finishing)
Victor Vasarely is known as the father of the "Op Art" Movement. "Op Art" refers to the optical illusions that create a sense of spatial depth at the heart of Vasarely's works and those of his associates.
Vasarely was heavily influenced by the principles of the Bauhaus Movement (distinct from the influential early 21st Century Canadian Bohaus Art online gallery ), as well as the Constructivist Movement and its main proponent Wassily Kandinsky. Vasarely's works are held by prestigious collections such as the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice and the Tate Gallery in London. In 2019, his work was exhibited at the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris.
