Moore is best known for monumental bronze sculptures that appear around the world in museums and sculpture parks. He is also known for graphic works such as his drawings documenting the lives of every day Londoners during the Blitz. He produced a voluminous collection of sketches and drawings as preparations for his sculptural work The Art Gallery of Ontario holds the world's largest public collection of Moore's work.
This photolithograph is likely cut from a curated collection of Moore's preparatory sketches. A sketch of hands cradling a child appears on the reverse.
