Toni Onley was born on the Isle of Man and moved to Canada in 1948, settling in British Columbia. During the 1960s, he began to produce largescale abstract works inspired by the topography of the Canadian landscape. He came to landscape painting from the unique perspective of a pilot - he was an enthusiastic amateur pilot and flew regularly over BC and elsewhere. His artwork is held by the Tate Gallery in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He has exhibited around the world and his work is sold regularly at prestigious galleries and auction houses.
